Sakurapaw panted out onto the beach, her board wobbling on her back as she trembled with exhaustion. She padded down to the stunted tree and memories of hiding with Soot swam back to hit her. She slipped her board off and padded down to te ocean, letting the waves wash her memories away with a quick swipe. As the wave swept away from her, he bittersweet memories washed awayand she felt lighter.
With a crooked paw, Sakurapaw sat in the shallows. A fish darted past and her paw flashed out. The fish flopped down onto the beach and Sakurapaw padded over to the wrigglingcreatre. She leaned over and hissed playfully, "Ishn't it wonderfl to know what it feels like to die?" She killed the slowly flopping fish and yawned, stretching out in the sand to eat her fish.

(OOC-Woah, weird! 0.o ) Several yards behind her friend, struggling along with her own board, came Dreamheart. Annoyance flared in her hazel eyes as she dropped her board for the third time, and she growled at it, trying to vent some of her anger. As though growling at it would seriously make it do something. With a sigh, the twoleg-made-cat picked up her board again, wishing for the first time that she was still a human, with hands to pick things up broad shoulders to sling things over. As a cat, it took her three times to discover the trick of picking up the board and balancing it on her back-although when she did, she was excessively pleased with herself. This wa made progress much faster, and Dreamheart reached the shore jst in time to see her friend flick a paw ot and snag a fish. "So that's how you catch a fish," the ginger she-cat purred as she reached Sakurapaw. "That was excellent. A halibut, I think?" She stared at the fish's body, not quite sure what sort of fish it was. Half of them looked exactly the same, so it was hard to tell. Then again, what difference did it make? Shrgging, Dreamheart slipped off her board, holding it still and underwater with one paw. "So... what am I supposed to do, exactly?" She stared at the board, watching the small shore-waves rise and fall over it. She had spent a good bit of time at the ocean as a runaway twoleg, and was looking forward to doing so again.

Sakurapaw turned to her firned and smiled. "Yep. It took a while to learn, but I have OceanClan blood. That makes it sooo easier." She licked a paw and drew it over her ear, silently accepting the compliment with boasting. "I can't ever tell. They're all fish, and that's what matters."
Sakurapaw flung the fish farther up the beach with a crooked paw. She picked up her board and wriggled under it. "Follow me!" she meowed before dashing into the surf, spray going everywhere. Her board never even wobbled on her perfectly balance shoulders.
Sakurapaw raced out until her paws barely grazed the bottom before ducking underwater. Her board slipped off her back and rocked in the water. Sakurapaw's head broke the surface and she scrambled onto her board. She lay down, her backpaws firmly on her board, and paddled with her tail and front paws. The waves gently carried her farther out, and soon she stood up on four paws.
A massive wave appeared a few foxlengths from Sakurapaw, and she grinned, clutching the board with her claws and using her leaning body and tail to send the board shooting to the wave. She rose up the inside and turned it to face shore. She yowled a fierce yowl of triumph, which turned to dismay as the tunnel of water began to collapse around her. She shot out of the watery tunnel and flipped, head over paws, into the ocean.
Cradling her board with her tail, Sakurapaw resurfaced and forced her way to shore. "And that's how you surf, cat style," she meowed with a grimace as she coughed out ocean water.
