snowkit was even more in pressed."very, very good. now get down on your haunches and plan out how to get closes to the mouse without being seen, smelled or heard so be wacthful of twigs. now once ou have it planned out place your weight 60 40 onto your backlegs like so" snowkit then dimanstraited how to creep up quitly staying low to the ground

Mocha nodded silently to let Snowkit know she understood, then dropped into the she-cat's crouch. She crept forward, copying what Snowkit had done, putting each pad down slowly and softly so that no sound and very little vibration was let loose from the steps. Not a single leaf or twig cracked, and she crept forward like a shadow. When she was near enough for the mouse to begin to squeak she pounced, coming down on it and biting its neck-but not before the mouse let out a loud shriek. Mocha picked up the warm body and padded back to Snowkit. "How'd I do? Sorry I let it squeak at the end... I wasn't quite fast enough." She looked up apologetically.

"it's okay you're learning" snowkit said paently" and up untill it sqeaked you were doing butifully. now look and sniff around. once prey let out a squek of alarm everything hides. it's a good lesson to learn. but it will mean the end of a great hunting spot for a little bit. if you want we can call it a day or venture farther away to hunt new prey till this part calms down"

Mocha felt both better and worse at Snowkit's acceptance. While she was glad the she-cat didn't blame her, she didn't real want to be the young fool, either. Still, though, Snowkit was right-she was learning, and mistakes were bound to happen. Mocha shook her head at the next words Snowkit directed at her. "No, I need to work on speed. I have to learn how to kill it before it squeals. Let's move on... Hold on, though..." She glanced around a moment before digging a small hole and burying the mouse's body in it. Then she turned her nose to the wind and groped about for prey-scent. After a moment she indicated a pot a ways off and asked, "Do we head that way?"

"sure" snowkit said beaming. she was lerning so fast. if she kept this up she could be a wild cat in no time."now somthing you may want to do is hit it or bite it on the head first and do it fast and hard so even if it doesn't kill it it will knock it out so it can't sound the alarm" snowkit then showed a good techniqe for hitting the prey." now you try"

Glad that Snowkit was alright with going on, Mocha padded behind her to the area she had chosen. The air was heavy with the scent of mice, and the two of them were the first cats to come by in a long time. Mocha watched the older cat carefully before trying out the tactic on a small rock nearby. After Snowkit's nod of approval, she dropped back into a hunting crouch and stalking quietly. This time the mouse was detached quickly and quietly, and Mocha proudly carried it back to Snowkit. "How was that?"

"exellent, i can't belive how good you are for just learning" snowkit purred"now try to think of diffrent ways you could have done it. you did absoultly fantastic butyou never want to only know 1 way to do somthing"

Mocha grinned for a moment. "Like Sandy. I've got..." She thought for a moment. "Fifty-three ways of hiding, escaping, and otherwise avoiding the idiot." Then she turned her attention back to the prey. "I... I don't know," she said. "I suppose I could have waited on the root above and waited for it to come out from under it? Then I could attack from the air, like a bird." Still unsure about her answer, she sat back and watched Snowkit.

Mocha laughed a little. "Yeah, flying isn't all that easy." She looked up at the sky wistfully. "It's a shame... I envy those birds. And it'd be easier to catch 'em besides!" Her grin returned as she looked back over at Snowkit. "Okay, I'll remember that. So... what next? Are there different ways of catching different prey?" The young cat's ears perked up, eager to continue learning.

"of course. look theres a rabbit. now it doesn't matters as much about smell as sight and hearing"snowkit said" you need to be very sniky and hide behind things till your very close then i fing a blow to the head works best with rabbits" snowkit deminstrated the proper techniqe" and rember you have to be even more causius not to make a sound"

Mocha looked around the tree to the spot Snowkit indicated. The rabbit sat there, chewing on some leaves. Its brown fur helped it blend into the ground, but Mocha's sharp eyes lit on it easily. She crouched, moving swiftly but silently behind the rabbit. Just as it began to turn its head she leaped, bringing her paw down in the technique Snowkit had shown her. The rabbit was knocked out cold, but she didn't finish it off before heading back to Snowkit. Seeing the cat's slightly confused look, she said, "I don't want to kill more than I can eat."

"ahh, i just i'm just use to killing what can and saving the rest but i see your point scine you don't know how long it will be before you can be here agin"snowkit said"you did wonderfully. honestly once you've et a few things down you wn't need a human at all but i guess that doesn't mean you need to leave. some cats like it"

Mocha shifted uncomfortably. "I- I've thought about leaving before. I want to know what it's like out there, living by your own wit and skill. Take what you can, give nothing back, as the proverb goes. But..." she hesitated before going on. "Sandy is a pain. I hate her. But I can't leave Katrina. For one thing, I can't leave her alone with Sandy. No one deserves that. And I owe her. She does her best to keep her aunt in line... I ought to do the same for her." Mocha sighed, her head on her paws. "It's complicated. I want to leave. I want to stay. It's wrong to leave. I have to leave. I can't leave. I can't stay." She looked back up at Snowkit. "Probably none of this makes sense..."

Mocha stared at Snowkit. "But... how can I live with a paw in both worlds?" Her head dropped back on her paws and she stared into space. "It's all so confusing..." Why wouldn't her thoughts just sort themselves out for her? It would save so much time... and stress, for that matter... Finally she looked back up at the white she-cat. "I'm sorry, Snowkit... This isn't your burden to bear." She sighed as she stood up, wishing she could lead some other life.

Mocha looked back up at Snowkit and gave a weak smile. "I hope so. I just wish I could be in two places at once, one with Katrina and one in the wild. I want to see the world-I really do!-but part of me just wants to stay with Katrina and try and put up with Sandy." She was about to continue speaking when she got interupted.

(OOC-Let's find out, shall we?)
A soft tune whistled through the trees as a pair of feet tread gently over a carpet fallen leaves. Katrina Niplosa looked around tree after tree, searching for a glimpse of the familiar brown pelt... Finally she began to get worried, and the humming was cut off abruptly as Katrina began calling. "Mocha? Mocha, where are you?..." The girl turned around a tree and felt her feet nearly go out from under her. A startled yowl hit her eardrums and turned to see a white tail lashing back into a burrow as a brown head emerged. "There you are, Mocha!" Another she-cat, a stranger to Katrina, reluctantly followed, and Katrina nearly fell over herself with guilt. "Sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to... It was a mistake, I... Sorry!" Figuring that the wild cat-at least she thought the cat was wild-wouldn't appreciate having a human too near, especially one that had just accidentally stepped on her tail, Katrina sat a few feet away and studied the new cat. Then she smiled and turned to Mocha. "A friend of your's, Mocha?" She turned back to the new cat. "Hey there! I'm Katrina. No doubt Mocha's told you about me." Her grin disappeared. "And Sandy." A sigh not unlike Mocha's escaped her, and she seemed to sag a bit. "That... I know she can't help it. I know she doesn't know any better. But still..." She looked at Mocha again. "I've actually thought about running away before, but I can't leave you alone with her. It's just not right. Nobody should have to put up with that."
If Katrina had been a cat Mocha would have nodded; that was pretty much how she felt about the situation. She waited for the girl to go on, but Katrina had put her head in her hands, apparently lost in her thoughts.

snowkit backed as far into the tree as possible hissing and yowling for all she was worth. snowkit turned to mocha" run, run as far and as fast as you can i'll hold her off" and with that snowkit ran at the human claws unsheathed teeth biting at the air. she scarched its legs doaged and ran circling it trying to scare the twoleg." mocha run! what don't you understand" snowkit yelled going in for another attack and doging back out. snowkit fully intending on hurting her till she fled.

Mocha's eyes went wide as Snowkit launched herself at Katrina, claws unsheathed and teeth flashing. It shouldn't have been unexpected, but for some reason the white she-cat's attack stunned Mocha for a moment. She shook herself in time to hear Katrina's "Oh!" of surprise and see the girl leap to her feet and begin dodging with astonishing agility. Her entire body moving in an intricate dance Mocha was sure she could never replicate in a calmer moment, the brown cat threw herself in front of Snowkit. Blows not meant for her landed on her head, her shoulders, her flanks, but she was persistent in keeping the heaviest damage from Katrina. "Snowkit! Stop! That's Katrina!" She choked out a few words at a time, unable to manage more between breathes. "I know her! It's Katrina!"

" what!" shouted snowkit pulling her away obuosly still not trusting katrina. snowkit stoped the attack but wasn't intending on getting any closer and definitly wasn't happy. " you know her? and LIKE HER?" snowkit said puzzled. snowkit then checked to make sure mocha wasn't hurt seriously all though making a point to growl at katrina every time they got within 5 feet of each other

Mocha nodded unhappily. "She's the one I was telling you about? She does her best to keep Sandy in check. I swear, she's not like other... What did you call them? Twolegs? She's fine, trust me-she won't try to pick you up or feed you mush or anything like that." Snowkit still looked apprehensive, and Mocha sighed. "Look, just don't claw her guts out, okay?" No serious wounds were sustained by anyone. Katrina had a few oozing scratches, but she was tending to them herself. She hadn't even kicked Snowkit when the attack came on, and the white cat was unharmed. Mocha had suffered the worst of the fight, but the only truly serious wound was a gash across her left pad, which she began working on, gently licking it clean. It was long but not deep, and it stopped bleeding quickly.
