Sakurapaw bounded down to the water's edge and sat down, the water soaking her belly and refreshing her aching paws. She licked up a drop of starlight water and felt herself drifting into a quick sleep. Sakurapaw opened her eyes at the edge of the lake. Icestar sat calmly beside her. Sakurapaw opened her mouth to speak, but the ancient leader purred, "You want your twoleg friend to joinyou in the Clan." Sakurapaw drew back, amazed as always that the leader could read her mind. She sighed. "Well, yes, but--" Icestar held her paw to Sakurapaw's mouth to silence her. "Then we will let her. She has a pure heart and is kind to cats. Bring her here and tel her to drink the Starlight water. When you arrive she will come with you as long as you are touching her, even with your fur. She will appear in StarClan with you and two StarClan cats will give her catlike gifts, as if we are giving her nine lives. She will feel no change, but when she awakes she will be a cat. There; problem solved." Sakurapaw blinked and then threw herself at the leader. She wrapped her paws around Icestar's neck and smiled. "Thank you oh so much Icestar! I'll try to be a better medicine cat." Icestar patted Sakurapaw on the back and dissapeared with a whisper of "Good luck!"
Sakurapaw jerked awake at the edge of the water. She scrambled to her paws and strode over to Soot. She touched noses with him and purred, "I promised Icestar I would be a better medicine cat in return for Katrina becoming a warrior. That means we can't be together the way we want to be. But we can still be friends. And I'm sure that Granny will let you join the Clan." Soot nodded. "Ok. That's fine with me. StarClan does know what's best. And I don't think your family would liveto see you have my kits, anyway." Sakurapaw smiled and sat down at the water's edge, waiting or Katrina, Soot at her side; pelts brushing gently, they waited a minute, then Sakurapaw leaned against Soot and murmured, "We can be more than friends without you having kits. We can still be mates, just have no kits." Soot nodded and purred, "I would love that."

(OOC-But she still has human characteristics, no? Like, she can still read and understand human talk and stuff. And now that she's getting ears and a tail, she can imitate dogs and squirrels and stuff like she's always wanted to. XD Meh girl is gonna make a very odd cat...)
As she scrambled up off the sand and set off at a run, Katrina's mind working just as hard-if not harder-than her body was, though both parts of her were just trying to keep up with the moving events. What the heck is going on?
As the beach vanished and was replaced by a mass of trees, Katrina found herself struggling to keep up with her two four-legged friends. She was quick, the fastest runner in her class, but there's only so much two legs can do to keep up with four; within minutes, her two cat friends had left her behind. Sighing, Katrina stopped to catch her breath. A few minutes later, with a somewhat worried feeling, she got up again and jogged off in the direction the cats had disappeared in.
As she continued, Katrina noticed that the trees were beginning to thin out; all the trees here were spread further apart, and they were younger than the ones she had passed earlier. She must be coming to the end of the forest.
She was right-only a few moments after she made that observation, Katrina found herself at the edge of a massive pond-no, a lake! It was beautiful, with the stars reflecting off of it like another nighttime sky, but it was also odd; the girl could feel a sort of power radiating from it. This was no ordinary lake.
Looking around, Kartina caught sight of Soot and Sakurapaw for the first time since she had lost sight of them, back in the forest. The two cats were leaning against each other, sharing a tender kitty moment. Katrina, her heart warm just from watching them, waited a few moments before clearing her throat and mind.
Er-Sakurapaw, where exactly are we?

(haha i have to agree. she can still read, write, type, and understand human speak. but overtime she will become a perfect cat. hopefully....)
Sakurapaw yawned. "Starlight Lake, where the spirits of StarClan swim." She stood up and poked Katrina in the shoe. "Come and drink from the lake. It is time you met StarClan." Sakurapaw touched her tailtip to Katrina's shoe and left a tiny hair on the tip. Sakurapaw dipped her nose in the water and licked it up. She laid down and let herself fall asleep, but keeping herself awake long enough for Katrina to drink too.
Icestar paced the side of the lake, her silver and white fur shining radiantly in the moonlight. Riverstream stepped timidly from the shadows and Icestar whirled on her. "Hurry up Riverstream!" Riverstream leaped forward and crouched fearfully beside her leader. "Why are we doing this to a twoleg again?" Icestar growled. "Leave the thinking to me." Sakurapaw appeared, half of her tail being held to earth by the hair on Katrina's shoe. "She's coming. prepare your gifts, please!" Sakurapaw gasped. Icestar and Riverstream dipped their heads and their muzzles glowed, their gifts appearing on their starshining whiskers. "When she arrives she will nderstand our speak, so break your connection please." Skurapaw did as she was told and sat beside Icestar. Her whiskers glowed. "I want to give her a gift too." Icestar nodded. "So be it."

(OOC-Type?*giggles* What use does she have for typing?
Whereas I, on the other hand, would die if I couldn't type. And I couldn't type if I die. Whee!
I know, I'm weird. Isn't it great? ;D)
Starlight Lake... Where the spirits of StarClan swim? Then that explains why it feels so... odd. Katrina gazed at the sparkling water, the glinting stars reflecting in the hazel eyes. It's beautiful...
Katrina jumped at Sakurapaw's words. Turning confused eyes on her friend, Katrina asked, Drink he water? Okay, but-but why?
It was too late; Sakurapaw had already lapped up some water, and was now looking rather drowsy. Shrugging, confused again but willing to trust her friend, Katrina knelt. Cupping her hands, she dipped them into the water, then brought them up to her face. The effect was almost immediate. Suddenly Katrina felt drowsy; it was all she could do to curl up and close her eyes, allowing sleep to take her. Her last conscious thoughts were I hope Sakurapaw knows what she's doing...
Of course, Sakurapaw did know what she was doing, and when Katrina opened her eyes, she found herself transported to-the lake??!! Blinking and rubbing her eyes, Katrina sat up. She glanced beside her and received a rather large shock-Sakurapaw wasn't there! Looking around wildly, Katrina caught sight of her friend a few feet away, sitting next to two shining cats that Katrina was sure hadn't been there a few moments before...
S-Sakurapaw? What's going on...?

Sakurapaw smiled. "Meet Icestar and Riverstream," she meowed happily, glad for a chance to use her voice with her friend. Icestar stood up and strode over to Katrina, who seemed to be cat size to the StarClan cats. She touched her muzzle to Katrina's nose and meowed, "With this gift I give you the abiity to hear, see, and smell the world around you and to understand them with a catlike mind." Katrina's nose glowed and her ears, eyes, as well as they recieved the gifts. Icestar backed up and Riverstream padded forward to take her place. "With this gift I give you a cat structure and fur. You shall look as catlike as our instincts are." Katrina disappeared into a glowing starshine cloud, and when it had cleared a young cat crouched. Riverstream stepped back, satisfied. Sakurapaw stepped forward and placed her muzzle on Katina's head. "With this gift I give you love and friendship, so that all cats that see you will see nothing bu your beauty and friendship." Katrina's cest glowed gently and Sakurapaw stepped back. Icestar nodded and murmured, "You two should head back to OceanClan. Shiningstar will want to meet Dreamheart soon." The two StarClan cats dipped their heads and disappeared. Sakurapaw opened her eyes and blinked at katrina. "Come on, we need to show you to my grandma." (i named her, but you can choose what she looks like. i thought dreamheart was a pretty name. )

OOC-It is, and it suits her, too.
Pretty kitty! XD She'd kill me if I every said that to her face...)
Katrina dipped her head to each cat as Sakurapaw introduced them; it took several moments for the fact that she had acctually heard Sakurapaw, instead of just sensing her thoughts. "Sakurapaw, you just talked to me! But why-how-"
Katrina's eyes flashed over Icestar and Riverstream, and understanding swallowed her like a wave. "You're from StarClan..." she whispered, awed beyond words. If she had needed proof that StarClan was amazing, here it was! Some could pass off these happeding as dreams, but Katrina had always been quick to believe in the impossbile; deep inside her, she knew that this wasn't a dream.
As each cat came forward to give their gift, Katrina gave them a small bow of respect; it was all she could do, as she was moved beyond words. This was, after all, her dream; to be a cat, to see the world as Mocha and Sakurapaw and all the rest did; to have a tail, whiskers, and ears, and a feline form, so delicate and yet so strong. Her heart brimmed with gratitude, and by the time Sakurapaw finished giving Katrina her gift, the girl-turned-cat wasn't surprised to feel her feline eyes dripping slowly.
When Icestar spoke to Sakurapaw,Katrina felt a huge pang. The last part of her old life, her name-gone, forever?
No. Dreamheart shook her head slightly, reminding herself of-herself. You are still you-no matter your name, no matter your form, your heart will always beat the same rythym.
Fortified by this reminder, Dreamheart found her tounge at last. She dipped her head all three cats, saying, "Thank you for al you have done. I will never forget this-it would be pretty hard to, seeing as to the fact that I'm a cat now!" She smiled at them, the turned and nodded to Sakurapaw. "Should we go now?"
Her tail waving at the StarClan cats, Sakurapaw descended back into wakefulness.
As soon as she opened her eyes, Dreamheart stood and padded over to the edge of the lake. Her reflection shimmered into view. The she-cat stepped back with a gasp-this was the first time she had ever seen a reflection that didn't show her a human form-then returned to the water, gazing at herself.
She was small and lithe, but underneath her medium-length, glossy coat hard muscle was hidden. Her pelt was ginger almost entirely ginger, but one back paw was black and the other white. She eyes wandered about the reflection for a bit, taking in her cat-form, before settling on her long-nosed face.
Dreamheart's eyes widened with joy as she noted one particular bit of her appearance. As she stepped back and padded away from the water, meowing merry hellos to Sakurapaw and Soot, part of her mind lingered on that one bit of information. Reflective, hazel, with tiny points of light hidden in their depths-
Her eyes were still the same.

Sakurapaw smiled and dipped her head gently. "Hi Dreamheart." Soot dipped his head, oblivious to who this new cat was. "We should t ake you to see Shiningstar now." She touched noses gently with Soot. "You should head back to the lair. Or you could head off to an island, not that far in the ocean. It's hidden by waves but you will start to feel tired by the time you come ashore. It's not far. I'll meet you there later." Soot nodded and bounded away. Sakurapaw turned back to Dreamheart and flicked her tail. "Follow me." She began padding slowly back to OceanClan. "Control your ears, nose, and tail and listen for a mouse. You'll hear their heartbeat and smell a delicious scent soon." She sniffed and stalked forward at the scent of mouse. She leaped and caught the wriggling creature in her paws, lifting it high in the air and smacking it against the ground. She picked it up and brought it over to Dreamheart. "Try it. Once you eat it you'll never forget the smell or the taste."

Dreamheart smiled somewhat shyly; her new muscles felt odd, like they weren't hers. "Hi, Sakurapaw, hi, Soot." She smiled to herself as Soot dipped his head, wondering for the first time why he hadn't been there at the ceremony.
Probably, she reasoned, he didn't really feel like he had a reason be there-he's got no connection to me, and I couldn't even mind-talk to him like a did with Sakurapaw, so he doesn't know me all that well.
By the time Dreamheart's mind surfaced from her thoughts, Soot was bounding off. She waved her tail, calling out soft "Goodbye!" (pleased, she noted that her the tone of her voice had not changed), then turned back to Sakurapaw. She followed the apprentice, struggling to make her legs work right.
The smells were dazzling her, making her head spin; cedar and pine, oak and cat and twoleg-Eww, did I really smell that bad?-and a delicous, tangy scent that at first Dreamheart didn't recognize. What is that? A few moments later her new instincts kicked in, tellin her that it was mouse.
Dreamheart nodded as Sakurapaw spoke, not bothering to say that she had already smelled the tiny creature. A heartbeat later some leaves rustled ahead, and the tri-colored she-cat dropped into the stalking position; somewhat surprised that she knew what to do, she figured that it had to be part of Icestar's gift.
But before she could move another muscle, Sakurapaw pounced on the mouse's tiny figure and killed it. Then she brought it back over to Dreamheart-who, upon invitation, ripped the mouse open and nibbled on a bit. Her eyes went wide, and she tooka larger bite. "It's wonderful!"

Sakurapaw smiled. "Thought you'd like it." She sat down and began washing her ears. "You try." The many rustlings around the edge of the lake told her plainly that Dreamheart should have an easy catch. "As soon as you can hunt perfectly I'll take you to Shiningstar."

Dreamheart nodded happily, finishing Sakurpaw's catch in a few bites. Shelicked her lips and stood, her ears swiveling to catch the nearest rustling sound. After just a few moments she located a mouse, its ears poking out of a pile of leaves at it emerged from its burrow under the rooks of a large oak. The ginger cat dropped into a hunting crounch, trusting the intsintcs the StarClan had given her; she began slowly advancing on her prey, putting each paw down so slowly and lightly that she almost seemed to glide over the ground. When she was close enough she leaped, pinning the tiny creature to the ground and killing it before it even had time to squeak. Quickly the she-cat pickd up her kill, carrying it proudly back to Sakurapaw.
"How was that?" [/center]

Sakurapaw smiled. "Puur-fect!" She nudged her friend. "Come on, let's take you to meet the Clan now." She bounded off in the direction of OceanClan camp, and meowed, "Try to follow my scent and trust your instincts!"
