Blizzard paddled out until he was pretty far out. He looked around and saw a wave coming closer. He stood up and got onto his back legs. He stood in position until the big wave came close. He turned his body until he was on top of the wave. he put his paw in the water and moved forward with the wave. He would have to go at least 37 foxlengths until he made it to shore. He hoped Raven could keep on the wave that far!

Raven clenched his teeth as the wave approached. He paddled ahead of the wave and kept his balance as it began to push him forward. He found that standing nearer the back of the board gave him better balance.
He heard the roar of the wave behind him, and saw the shore approaching... approaching rapidly! He closed his eyes and did his best to keep his footing...

Blizzard let go of the wave and Raven and dug his claws into the board. He jumped up and him and the board lifted off the wave. Blizzard flipped and landed back on the wave. The wave was small again. He sat down and waited to wash up on the beach.

Ravan quickly opened his eyes, watched his friend jump into the air, and decided that you had to be crazy to ride a wave on a piece of wood! Raven sunk his claws into the wood - not to jump, but just to stay on. He rode the wave until it was small again, then he relaxed as the board coased to the shoreline.

Blizzard stood up and stepped off the board as if he'd been simply enjoying a tasty piece of freshkill. He yawned and nodded to Raven. "Not bad at all for a beginer. With some practice, you could be flipping and spinning too."

Blizzard shook his board twice and water flew everywhere. The sap had done the trick along with the sand. It was water proof! Blizzard pushed the board back in and jumped on. "I'm gonna go for round 2!"

Blizard rode out and climbed a HUGE wave. He rode it and it started to crash over his head. He pushed himself out of the watery tunnel and rode on top. He yowled and jumped. He landed right in front of the wave. He rode back into the tunnel and sat down on his board. He couldn't see the shore anymore when he was on top, so he would have some fun inside the wave. He pulled a tuna fish out of the bag he had around his neck and ate it in a few bites. He ate a razzberry that was in there and stood back up. He pushed his way out of the wave and urged the board back to shore. He pulled up on the sand and lay down on the sand. He sat down and watched Raven

Raven was paddling out when the huge wave approached. He quickly turned around and rode the wave below the tunnel. When Blizzard disappeared he worried that his friend was hurt - then he was him ON TOP OF THE WAVE! It was then that Raven realized that Blizzard was a natural at this. Raven rode the lower wave until he reached the beach.

Blizzard nodded. "When I started after watching Toby, I couldn't even stand on the board without falling in the water. And back then I couldn't swim so I had a problem. But I learned." He pulled his board back to the water and said, "One more time. This time I want you to try a trick."

Blizzard jumped and spun. He climbed up and rode the top of the wave. He dug his claws in and turned with a snap as if he were rounding on an enemy. The board turned with him and he rode backwards. He looked over his shoulder and watched the shore coming vagely into view.

Raven watched as a wave approached. He began paddling to pick up some speed, then sat up as the wave caught the board. He let the board rise up near the top of the wave, then gave a kick to get clear on top. He almost fell off as the board shifted rapidly from back to front, but Raven's claws held on tight.
Looking around for guidance, Raven could not see Blizzard! Raven began to panic! He looked left, then right, then realized he was facing backwards! He had no idea how he had done it, but there it was.
Suddenly leaned too far towards the back of the board, and with a whoosh, he and the board were inside the wave. Raven sputtered as he surfaced in shallow water, and padded over to his board lying on the sand.
